A bit about me

I've been writing software professionally for over a decade. Here's the short version.

Hi, I'm Vijay — I enjoy building things that run on computers, with or without the internet. Software engineering is my craft; I've been at it professionally for about 15 years, mostly on the backend, with a healthy dose of front-end work in between.

These days I lead a development team at Akixi in Crawley, UK, as Development Manager — building a cloud call analytics platform for better support and operations. The job has grown to include people, architecture, and roadmaps alongside code, but my taste hasn't changed: clean APIs, honest observability, and shipping things that don't wake people up at night.

I still write code most weeks — partly because I love it, and partly because staying close to the work helps me be a better manager for my team.
